I want to warn you about the Unit Finance payday loan platform, which operates as part of a digital scam and extortion scheme known as "Montadeudas" (loan sharking).
⚠️ How does this scam work?
The hook: They advertise on social media (TikTok, Facebook, Instagram), offering instant loans or microloans in dollars without checking your credit history.
Personal information theft: When you install the app, it requires mandatory access to your contacts, photo gallery, location, and phone storage.
Unrequested deposits and abusive charges: They transfer small amounts (or less than promised, under the pretext of "fees") and, within a few days, demand repayment with exorbitant interest rates that are impossible to pay.
Extortion and blackmail: If you refuse to pay or fall behind, they use photos from your gallery (creating defamatory photo montages) and text or call your contacts to harass and threaten you.

Banking regulators and cybersecurity agencies (such as Sudeban) have issued official alerts confirming that Unit Finance operates illegally, without banking authorizations or licenses, putting users' privacy and security at serious risk.
