At least 17 U.S. data center projects were canceled in the third quarter, the highest quarterly total since 2024. According to Odaily, data from Programs show that about half of the 69 projects canceled since 2024 had been abandoned amid opposition from local residents, the most commonly cited reason, as of November 4. At least four projects have been canceled in the United States since October, and cancellations in the second half of this year have approached the full-year total for 2025.
