CPI is about to be announced! Will the Fed cut rates in December or stay put? These figures could affect global markets!

There’s one key indicator crypto investors need to keep a close eye on: the U.S. CPI.

On November 10, the U.S. will release its October Consumer Price Index (CPI). This report matters because it could influence market expectations for the Fed’s December rate decision.

Why is one inflation report making crypto markets so nervous?
Because inflation determines the Fed’s policy options, and interest rates directly affect the cost of capital in the markets.

If CPI comes in below expectations, it would signal some easing in inflationary pressure, and markets may raise their expectations for a rate cut. If the dollar and Treasury yields fall as a result, risk assets could get more support, potentially benefiting Bitcoin as well.

But if CPI comes in hotter than expected again, the opposite could happen. The Fed may need to keep rates higher for longer, weighing on expectations for market liquidity and potentially putting BTC and other high-risk assets under pressure.

What’s more, the previous CPI report for September already showed a rebound: headline CPI rose 3.7% year over year, while core CPI rose 2.6%. Higher gasoline prices were a major factor behind the increase in overall inflation.

So this time, the market won’t just be watching how much CPI rose. It will also be looking at core inflation, energy prices, and whether the figures exceed expectations.

For crypto investors, short-term price action may be affected by macroeconomic data, but don’t use a single number to judge whether we’re in a bull or bear market.

Do you think this November 10 inflation test will open the door to a December rate cut, or keep the Fed cautious?
