📢 Binance to Close Accounts in Select European Countries and Impose Inactivity Fees

Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has notified users in several European countries—specifically France and Spain—that they must immediately withdraw their crypto assets. The move comes after the exchange failed to obtain a broader European MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets) license, forcing its regional subsidiaries to shut down operations.

According to the announcement, all client accounts under Binance France will be permanently closed on December 31, 2026, with deposits and account top-ups already blocked. Furthermore, for users who do not withdraw their crypto in time, Binance will introduce hefty monthly inactivity fees starting November 29. The fee will be set at 0.025% of the balance with a minimum charge of 10 USDC (deducted primarily from stablecoins or other holdings, potentially draining small dust balances). Users are strongly advised to withdraw their funds before that date to avoid additional charges and the risk of forced conversion or freezing of remaining assets.
