Remember: when growing companies or tech giants (hyperscalers like Amazon, Microsoft) channel massive amounts of cash into building new plants, data centers, and infrastructure, their CapEx spikes while FCF temporarily drops or goes negative, this doesn’t mean it’s game over 🚨️️️️️️

If a company is spending money to build its own production infrastructure, it creates the foundation for future explosive revenue growth and margin expansion. Building your own factory or data center to scale capacity is a «good story» that lays the groundwork for a future monopoly.

Traditional «old school» investors often panic over the temporary dip in FCF and start dumping the stock.

🔴 When an FCF drop is a RED FLAG:
• Lack of return on investment: If a company’s CapEx and debt surge significantly while revenue and operating profit fail to grow. Companies like Amazon, GOOGL, META, Microsoft, etc., don’t have such debt issues at all, even in theory.

• Inefficient spending: If the decline in FCF is caused not by building productive assets, but by questionable M&A deals or inefficient operating expenses that destroy margins.
