【25 today, weekly average at 33, still bleeding over the month】

STRK is down 1.5% over the past 24 hours and 9.2% over the past week, while the Fear and Greed Index has fallen to just 25, deep in extreme fear territory. BTC dominance is 59.3%, and trading volume is once again more than 5% of market cap. These numbers seem contradictory: it’s not that everyone’s too greedy; prices have fallen, but coins are starting to change hands. Some are panic-selling, while others see that it’s “99% down from its ATH” and think it’s cheap enough to buy with their eyes closed.

I got burned by this “it’s fallen a lot, so it must go up” story back in 2017. In 2021, I also believed in the final stretch of the bull market. When prices were rising, I thought I was a genius. Only after the pullback did I realize that the market had just lent me that money. Greed doesn’t necessarily show up at the very top; more often, it wears the disguise of “everyone else is panicking, so I’ll buy the opposite.”

What does this mean in practice? Who will be affected? A low valuation doesn’t automatically make it a good business: if the fundamentals haven’t changed substantially, an oversold asset may simply remain oversold. The ones truly caught out are people using high leverage, holding short-term positions through volatility, and chasing dips in a panic. If the business case doesn’t keep up, even the most compelling price story won’t hold for long.

I’m tempted to buy, but a 99% drop doesn’t mean you should jump in with your eyes closed. This market feels more like it’s waiting for direction than telling you to get on board. What’s everyone’s mindset right now? I’m tempted to buy, but a 99% drop doesn’t mean you should jump in with your eyes closed. This market feels more like it’s waiting for direction than telling you to get on board. What’s everyone’s mindset right now?
