The funds are safe, but this isn’t over
Gnosis Pay discovered on November 3 that its card payment system had been breached and began responding within two hours. Full card numbers, expiration dates and CVVs were leaked, along with users’ home addresses and linked wallet addresses. The enterprise version was unaffected, and no funds were moved.
With home addresses linked to wallets, phishing is only the first layer. The company hasn’t disclosed how many people were affected. The payment platform was already scheduled to be retired on December 20, and online payments now require 3D Secure verification.
