【NEAR over the next 7 days: I’m betting on a sideways market, not a relief rally】
Here’s the bottom line: I expect NEAR to trade within a range over the next 7 days. The key reason isn’t “it’s fallen a lot, so it must go up,” but that sentiment, trading volume, and key price levels haven’t aligned to signal a clear direction.
First, the Fear & Greed Index has fallen to 25, with a weekly average of 33, and panic is still accelerating. Extremely low sentiment can point to heavy selling pressure, but it doesn’t prove a bottom is in. Second, NEAR fell 18.2% in a week, but support at 3.59 and resistance at 3.86 are still holding. A breakdown or breakout needs volume confirmation. Third, trading volume has surged abnormally to more than 5% of market cap, suggesting both bulls and bears are repositioning. A directional move may be near, but that doesn’t mean the trend has already been decided.
In practical terms, low sentiment won’t automatically bring in users or revenue. Short-term traders and liquidity providers will be affected first. If app usage, project revenue, and fees don’t improve, there’s no business case to support a valuation recovery—the rally would be driven by sentiment alone. Conversely, genuine launches of new business initiatives could turn a bounce into a trend.
What would prove me wrong? A high-volume breakout above 3.86 that holds would invalidate my bullish thesis. If NEAR loses 3.59 and can’t reclaim it, my range-bound thesis would also be wrong.
Do you think this is a genuine reversal or a high-volume sell-off? Let’s check back next week and see.
