Where is the 2020 wave known as “DeFi Summer” generally considered to have started?
This is how I understand it: “liquidity mining” means a protocol rewards users who deposit and borrow with its own tokens, in order to attract funds and decentralize governance.
COMP’s “use the protocol to earn tokens” model inspired many projects to follow suit, and the summer of 2020 is often called “DeFi Summer.”
My current habit: after borrowing, remember to keep an eye on the borrowing rate. When fund utilization rises, rates often increase significantly.
