Michael Saylor draws on four centuries of financial history to build a theoretical case for Strategy’s STRC. PANews reports that the Strategy executive chairman wrote on X that common stock separated capital from investment cycles, preferred stock provided priority claims, tax law established a return-of-capital mechanism, and Bitcoin, created in 2008, became a new reserve asset for businesses.

According to PANews, STRC uses Bitcoin to back its balance sheet, preferred stock to define investor returns and claims, and exchange listings, shelf registrations, and ATM offerings to provide liquidity and enable capital formation. The product was first issued in July 2025, raising approximately $2.521 billion and purchasing 21,021 bitcoins.

· The financial history framework and arguments for the product’s rationale above are Saylor’s own statements; the issuance size and number of bitcoins purchased are disclosed figures.
