【Today: 75,800; about 77,400 a week ago; about 115,000 a month ago】
It’s down just 2.1% in a week, but the monthly drop is much steeper. The Fear and Greed Index is at 25 today, with a weekly average of 33, and volume is still low: the money hasn’t all fled—it’s just afraid to step in.

Extreme fear isn’t a button that marks the bottom. In 2017, BTC plunged from nearly 20,000 to just over 3,000, a drop of more than 80%; in 2021, it fell from 69,000 to 15,000, nearly 80%. It’s now 39.9% below its ATH. That’s a fearful market, but it’s not the kind of scene where the bones were shattered like back then.

Are whales quietly accumulating? Strive bought 15,124 BTC in October and now holds 43,124. That’s public buying, not quiet accumulation; meanwhile, ETFs saw net outflows of $430 million, and institutions are pulling back too.

On the ground, Russia’s new rules allow retail investors to trade BTC, ETH, and USDT through licensed intermediaries, and the Moscow Exchange plans to launch in December. The door is open, but that doesn’t mean demand has arrived. Trading platforms and liquidity providers stand to benefit first; whether they make money depends on users and profit margins.

I’ll only consider buying the dip when fear starts to fade, ETF outflows ease, and accumulation spreads to more players. Miss any one of those, and the risk is that sentiment stays in the dumps; a 39.9% pullback won’t automatically mark a bottom.

Would you buy the dip during extreme fear, or keep waiting on the sidelines?
