After looking at several sources, here’s my synthesis.
$SOL is now at 89.98, down 0.619% over 24 hours. It looks like nothing’s wrong.
But it’s sitting at just 8.3% of its 20-day range.
The range is 88.24 to 109.18. It’s only 1.97% from the lower bound, but still 21.3% from the upper bound. At a position like this, I don’t focus on the drop—I focus on who’s in the market.
Over the same period, $BTC fell 0.306%, and $ETH fell 0.044%. The broader market is very quiet, yet this one is hovering at the bottom of its range.
The last six hourly candles have all moved between 89.93 and 90.25, with a high-low spread of just 0.36%. Low-volume sideways action is what makes me wary.
The long/short account ratio has reached 3.6104, with long accounts making up 78.31%, while the funding rate is just 0.001108%, almost flat at zero.
With accounts this crowded on one side, yet the funding rate refusing to rise, it suggests these longs are existing positions stubbornly holding on, with no fresh money coming in to support them.
It’s like a reservoir whose water level is stuck at the dam’s edge: it looks full, but not a drop has been added.
Open interest is up only 0.73%, and notional value is up 0.46%. The new positions are negligible.
The taker buy/sell ratio is 0.8924; sellers have consistently outnumbered buyers, if only by a little.
By my read, there’s no one taking the other side of the positions in this market. Below here lies the thinnest stretch of liquidity.
Honestly, I’ve been watching it all day. Those six candles have been grinding back and forth within that narrow 89.93–90.25 band.
At this level, I’m keeping an eye on it, but I’m not making a move.
