We keep seeing “ETF net inflows”—what do these figures actually mean?
This is how I understand it: ETF fund flows are simply the net amount of fund share creations and redemptions. They include hedging flows, so they shouldn’t be directly equated with new buying pressure.
Before spot ETFs, the U.S. already had Bitcoin futures-based ETFs, which began trading in October 2021.
My approach: Buying an ETF and holding Bitcoin yourself have different characteristics. ETFs eliminate the need to safeguard private keys, but charge management fees and trade only during U.S. stock market hours.
Coin in this example: $BTC Current price: 75937.47 (24h -0.27%).
