“You can trade on the day of the TGE”—is that true?
My understanding: a TGE means a token goes from being a “promise in a contract” to a real asset on the blockchain. Subsequent unlocks and distributions are usually calculated from this date.
TGE is short for Token Generation Event. It refers to the point when a token is first created and begins to be distributed.
What I do: When looking into a new project, I check its initial circulating supply at the TGE and its subsequent unlock schedule.
Unlike $ARB , $EIGEN was temporarily non-transferable after its TGE in 2024. Transfers were only enabled at the end of September. Current price: 0.1667.
