HYPE holders on Binance finally have a date: withdrawals will reopen late next week.
Facts: Binance (Recovery Update #9, Nov 6) is targeting the reopening of withdrawals for HYPE, INJ, APT, PLASMA, NEAR, and LTC late next week. The freeze has been in place since the Oct 29 hack, which affected around $6.3 billion in funds. Binance said 98% of the stolen assets had been replaced as of Nov 4, and withdrawals will reopen gradually for each asset-network pair after passing security checks. Until then, HYPE on Binance can only be sold — it can’t be transferred to a personal wallet or another exchange.
My take: this is a recovery milestone, not the finish line. The reopening is still "being worked toward," not a firm date commitment, and each token still has to clear security checks. The reassuring part: user funds are claimed to be fully covered — what hasn’t been restored is access, not value.
What I’m watching: whether the target of late next week is met, and whether other tokens on networks that have already recovered are reopened at the same time.
Do you think a one-week target is fast enough for a recovery of this scale, or should it be faster?
This is my analysis, not financial advice — always DYOR.
