Coinbase Halts Legacy AERO Deposits
Holders of the old Aerodrome Finance asset have one instruction to act on, and it is already in force: do not send legacy AERO to a Coinbase deposit address. The exchange's November notice confirms that the migration of the Aerodrome Finance and Velodrome Finance assets into the unified Aero token is complete, and that deposit and withdrawal support for the legacy AERO token has ended. A token migration replaces an existing asset with a successor issued under a new contract, leaving holders with the new token once the old one stops being serviced. Coinbase warns that transfers of the old token sent to customer deposit addresses may be unrecoverable, so there is no safe way to test the path. The notice states that the new AERO and VELO assets are available for sending and receiving again, and ties the resumed transfers directly to the completed conversion. Coinbase Global (COIN), the largest United States-based crypto exchange, runs spot, institutional and derivatives products, and a token-level change of this kind reaches all three layers. For Aerodrome Finance's governance token, the practical effect is a hard split between two assets that share a name: the legacy token, which the exchange will no longer accept, and the new Aero token, which now carries transfers. Coinbase refers to the pre-migration asset as the legacy AERO token throughout the notice, a wording that now separates it from the traded Aero asset. A holder who still owns legacy AERO on another platform cannot deposit it into Coinbase, and the notice describes no separate conversion route for that position. The change came with no advance deadline of its own; the cutoff is the notice itself.
NEON, SYND, STG, PYR and FORTH Deadlines
The same announcement fixes deadlines for five other tokens, and those dates are the part of the calendar a holder can still act on. Trading in NEON, the Neon EVM asset, and SYND, from Syndicate, stops on November 16, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. ET, with the halt applied across the main Coinbase platform, Coinbase Exchange and Coinbase Prime. The planned change for Stargate Finance (STG) and Vulcan Forged (PYR) was pushed back to November 20, 2026 at the same 2:00 p.m. ET slot, when trading in both tokens ends in the simple and advanced sections as well as on the exchange and Prime. Ampleforth Governance Token (FORTH) follows on November 23, 2026 at the same time. A delisting removes an asset from trading, so after the stated time the token can no longer be bought or sold on the affected surfaces. The venue reviews listed assets against its own standards on a rolling basis, and the halts follow its latest round of assessments. The token's native name is CARDS, but it trades under the ticker CARD on Coinbase, a change the venue made to prevent confusion with an existing listing that uses a similar symbol. On the derivatives side, the venue adds four futures trading products on Monday: perpetual futures on BMNR, WDC, RKLB and AAOI go live at 10:00 UTC on November 9, 2026, offered to retail and institutional investors in selected jurisdictions.
No Conversion Window Left Open
The exchange's official announcement fixes no future date for the legacy AERO asset: deposit and withdrawal support has already stopped, so there is no deadline left to meet. Anyone still carrying legacy AERO on another venue or in self-custody cannot move it to Coinbase, and the notice offers no conversion path for that balance. Transfers of the new AERO and VELO assets are running again, restoring the deposit flow behind trading volume in those markets, while the old token sits outside the venue's support. Customers moving other funds off the exchange in this period can follow our guide to withdrawing money on Coinbase. Our AERO technical analysis page tracks the successor asset's market. No further date has been published for the legacy token, so its status outside Coinbase stays open.
