What problems arise if a block provides only the result but not the transaction data?
“Data availability” and “permanent data storage” are not the same thing: data availability only requires that anyone can download the data during the period when it needs to be verified.
DAS is generally used together with erasure coding: data is encoded into a redundant version, and the entire dataset can be recovered as long as a sufficient proportion of the pieces is obtained.
