【1252: The First Test That May Follow NU7】

The reveal: ZEC is moving sideways on the surface, but the order book is waiting for a signal. I’m leaning bearish for now, but I wouldn’t call it a sure thing.

On the daily chart, price is down 59.5% from its ATH. The broader structure is still a recovery after lower highs; two bullish candles don’t make a reversal. The 4H and 1H charts have strengthened, but price needs to hold 1252 and form a higher low before breaking 1410. If 1252 gives way, bulls will have to reassess. Volume has climbed to more than 5% of market cap, but price hasn’t picked a direction. That’s not confirmation—it just means the disagreement is growing. Bulls are watching 1252 and the next higher low; bears are watching 1410, the gate to a rebound.

What does NU7 mean in practice? The block-time target drops to 25 seconds, reducing the work needed to find funds for private payments and improving both the user experience and the operational burden on miners. Sixty percent of fees are recycled into future block rewards, giving miners another source of incentives and making the business model viable. The real sticking point is that 12,224 ZEC in Sprout are temporarily inaccessible, worth around $15 million. Whether access can be restored depends on future upgrades.

What would truly overturn my bearish view is a daily close above 1410, with the 4H and 1H charts continuing to make higher highs and higher lows. Volume is only an amplifier; it can’t testify on price’s behalf.

Are you all itching to trade this move? I am a little too, but this time I’ll sit on the sidelines.
