⚠️ ETHEREUM WARNS OF SMART CONTRACT RISKS AHEAD OF GLAMSTERDAM
On November 6, the Ethereum Foundation published a list of eight assumptions about gas costs that may no longer hold after the Glamsterdam upgrade. ChainSecurity auditors identified projects whose smart contracts could behave differently because of EIP-8037 and EIP-8038. This is a risk to specific applications, not a report of an Ethereum hack.
The postponement of Glamsterdam’s activation on the Hoodi testnet was announced back on October 22. The new notice is a call for developers to check their contracts and report any issues. The Hoodi upgrade remains postponed until those issues are resolved; no date has been announced for the Glamsterdam mainnet launch.
