On the afternoon of November 7 (UTC+8), Keplr Wallet said it had received reports of unauthorized transactions involving some wallet accounts created by signing in with Google or Apple. It has notified the Web3Auth team, and the two sides are investigating together. Web3Auth posted the same day that its service had experienced a security issue affecting some third-party platforms, and that embedded wallet services had been suspended. Its preliminary investigation found no impact on MetaMask users. More details will be announced officially later.

Keplr’s preliminary assessment: accounts created with a seed phrase or hardware wallet are not affected by this incident; accounts created by signing in with Google or Apple may be affected. Sign-in with Google and Apple has now been suspended. The official advice is not to transfer new funds into the accounts in question during the investigation, or to re-import or recreate those accounts anywhere. Get updates only from official accounts, and beware of direct messages and links claiming to help recover assets.

Around the same time, Binance spot trading showed $BTC at approximately 76,100 and $ETH at approximately 2,248, while major coins were generally trading sideways. One-click login is convenient, but trouble can come just as quickly—using a seed phrase or hardware wallet seems like the safer option for now. Don’t rush to click unfamiliar links.
