A few nights ago, I was scrolling through the feed around midnight and saw a screenshot showing a profit. My finger had already tapped into the buy page before I pulled back. That was when I realized I needed something to stop me before I acted. Later, I set a few rules for myself and go through them whenever I feel like making a move.

First, I ask myself what would happen if this money went to zero. Could I still pay rent? Would it affect my ability to eat? Would I still be able to sleep at night? If the answer to any of those is “no,” then the position is too big. At this stage, being able to afford the loss has to be a hard requirement—not something I tell myself to feel better after I’m already stuck with a losing position.

Before buying, I write down what would make me admit I was wrong. Maybe I’ll sell if the price reaches a certain level, or if one of my reasons for buying is proven wrong. Either works. If I haven’t written it down, I don’t buy. Looking back, most purchases made without an exit plan were driven by emotion.

I also check whether the screenshot is what’s motivating me. If it is, I make myself wait 24 hours. People on the feed only show off their wins; nobody livestreams their losses. I keep that firmly in mind now.

I’ll keep watching how $BTC plays out, but I’m in no rush to place an order. Just to be clear: these are study notes, not investment advice.
