Trading Notes | Average Entry Price
① A fee is charged once when opening and once when closing a position, and both are calculated based on notional value. This means the price must move beyond the average entry price by enough to break even.
② Adding to a long position below the average entry price lowers the average price, but also increases the position size, so a pullback of the same magnitude results in a larger loss.
③ When setting take-profit levels and calculating the breakeven price, account for opening and closing fees as well as estimated funding fees.
