Didn't Get Below 75K, Couldn't Hold Above 76K

The morning gave us two options: wait for 76K to hold before entering, or place orders below 75K and buy into the panic. Neither played out this morning. Price was squeezed between the two levels for four hours.

The level that held was straightforward: the 74,888 wick from the early hours wasn't revisited. After 8:00, the low was just 75,790, still about $900 above the wick—those hoping to buy below 75K waited all morning without getting filled. The level that failed to break was just as clear: three attempts at 9:00, 10:00, and 11:00, with highs of 76,042, 76,101, and 76,102. Each time, price gained only $50–$60 and never reached the 76,208 resistance identified this morning (about $106 short). At 11:00, a candle sent it back down to 75,894. It never managed to hold above 76K.

Bitcoin is currently at $75,884, up 0.13% over 24 hours. Today's high was 76,208 at 6:00, and the low was 75,410 at 0:00. Ethereum is at $2,244, up 0.58%, with a high of 2,254 and a low of 2,217 today. BNB is at $694, up 0.14%; it has failed to reclaim the $700 level for a third day. Total crypto market capitalization is $2.5664 trillion, down 3.02% over 24 hours—lower than this morning's $2.5714 trillion, with the decline widening from 2.56% to 3.02%. Large caps are flat, while the long tail is still bleeding. Don't mistake the percentage change turning positive for a recovery: last night's wick has rolled out of the calculation window, and the current price is still about $70 below this morning's level.

The volume is what really stands out: the two upward candles at 9:00 and 10:00 had volumes of just $19.8 million and $15.8 million, around 35% to 50% of the $39.9 million and $46 million recorded at 6:00 and 7:00. The 11:00 pullback, by contrast, came with volume rising to $25.2 million—1.4 times the average of the previous two hours. Price is testing higher on declining volume and moving lower on rising volume. There really are sellers above 76K.

There's another development today: Strive, a US-listed Bitcoin treasury company, disclosed that it bought 15,124 Bitcoin in October alone, bringing its total holdings to 43,124 BTC. It also reported third-quarter net income of $509 million. The Fear & Greed Index is at 25, still in extreme fear, but hasn't fallen further. Prices are stuck below 76K, while institutions keep buying—this was the morning's most intriguing contrast.

After grinding within a range of just over $300 all day, do you think this “holding firm but unable to break higher” is a buildup for a move, or are we waiting for another piece of bad news?
