Coinbase’s official account just reported: BTC has been trading below the global price on Coinbase for 61 consecutive days.

The latest daily spread is -0.13%, ranking in the 8th percentile over the past two years. Since September 2023, there have been only two discount periods longer than this.

CT has already started repeating, “A negative premium means we’re at the bottom; once it turns positive, we take off.” Hold on. With the U.S. spot market consistently cheaper than the global market for two months, plus net ETF outflows this week, it looks more like U.S. buyers are sitting on their hands—not some mysterious bottom forming. A positive premium has served as a sentiment gauge, not a buy/sell switch. Don’t treat a relative price spread as a position-sizing signal.
