The U.S. Treasury has dealt another blow: OFAC has sanctioned 4 more individuals and 41 entities (45 targets in total), targeting a network tied to Cambodia’s “Prince Group,” which is accused of making money through crypto investment scams and pig-butchering schemes. Much of the operation was allegedly run out of scam compounds in Southeast Asia and also involved human trafficking and forced labor.
The official account: These individuals helped the group’s executives manage offshore shell companies, conceal beneficial ownership, and move assets—effectively evading the two previous rounds of sanctions, in October 2025 and this June. Treasury Secretary Bessent repeated the same message: dismantle the operation layer by layer, from its leadership and corporate structure to its financial channels.
Also singled out was a Malaysian man accused of leading a gang in Madagascar that used crypto and other methods to defraud U.S. victims of more than $400,000.
The crackdown on scam compounds in Southeast Asia shows no sign of letting up.
