$BTC: Don’t look only at spot; derivatives costs are being priced in too

Track quotes, open interest, and funding costs separately, then assess whether they’re reinforcing one another.

Finally, return to the upper and lower bounds. Keep the current interpretation only if price confirms it.

First, the positioning side: volume and derivatives readings are as follows: volume ratio 1.09, one-hour OI +0.27%, funding rate +0.0100%. Price, volume, and positioning have yet to reinforce one another in a clear direction, so for now it’s better to watch the range.

Next, the price side: this record is current as of 08:14 Beijing time on November 7. Binance’s $BTC was 75,958.44 USDT, while OKX read 75,959.00 at the same time. The short- and medium-term readings don’t fully align: 15 minutes -0.15%, 1 hour -0.09%, 4 hours -0.06%.

Another explanation is that both bulls and bears are reducing risk exposure. Public OI shows only the change in the total, not which side is acting. 74,888.00 is the downside level to watch; 76,378.00 is the upside confirmation level. A break above 76,378.00 followed by a successful retest would confirm it; a drop back below 74,888.00 would invalidate the original view. Until these conditions play out, I’d treat this as position rotation, not a trend.

This is an observation of public market data only and does not constitute investment advice.
