Wallets and Security | What’s the difference between a private key, a public key, and an address?
Bitcoin and Ethereum private keys are both essentially large 256-bit random numbers, and both use the secp256k1 elliptic curve.
You can think of an address as an account for receiving funds, and a private key as the only credential for accessing those funds: you can share your account with anyone, but only you should know your private key.

Treat anyone who contacts you claiming to be “technical support” as a scammer. Official support will never ask for your recovery phrase.
