🇮🇳 INDIA CRACKS DOWN ON OFFSHORE CRYPTO ROUTES

India's Enforcement Directorate has raided offices linked to CoinDCX and Delta Exchange in Bengaluru, alleging the platforms routed customer funds offshore in violation of foreign exchange law.

🔹 WHAT HAPPENED
The ED searched three premises on Nov 4-5 under FEMA. It alleges both exchanges converted INR deposits into $USDT and sent them to Binance, KuCoin, Gate.io, Bybit and Hyperliquid to execute spot, futures and options trades, plus tokenised foreign stocks, with volumes running into thousands of crores of rupees. Hundreds of crores in fees were allegedly paid abroad the same way.

🔑 WHY IT MATTERS
This is one of India's biggest enforcement actions against domestic exchanges. If the allegations hold, every Indian platform routing flow offshore comes under the microscope, and it is a warning shot for the tokenised-stock and RWA trade globally.

⚠️ THE OTHER SIDE
These are allegations at the search stage. No charges have been filed, and CoinDCX has called the visit a routine enquiry. The case could still fizzle, but the direction of travel in India is clear: offshore routing without approval is now a live enforcement risk.

India is too big a market for this to stay local. Watch whether other Indian exchanges face the same scrutiny.
