📉 The breakdown is even more striking: Bitcoin spot funds saw $430.2 million in outflows in a single day, wiping out the $74.6 million that had flowed in on November 4. Fidelity’s FBTC led withdrawals, with $199.9 million leaving in one day; BlackRock’s IBIT followed with $105 million.

🔸 Over the five trading days from October 30 to November 5, Bitcoin ETFs saw cumulative net outflows of about $1.51 billion. This isn’t a one-day mood swing—it’s a week-long stance.

🔸 Ethereum sentiment cooled at the same time: on November 5, net outflows totaled $99.9 million, compared with $53 million in net inflows the previous day. BlackRock’s ETHA accounted for $75.2 million of the outflows, while ETHB saw another $22 million leave.

💡 Prices have already reacted. During trading on November 6, Ethereum hovered around $2,220, down about 8.3% over 24 hours; Bitcoin fell about 6.1% to $75,500. Open interest in Ethereum derivatives dropped from nearly $16 billion at the end of September to about $11.4 billion.

📊 Here’s a take worth noting from Andreja Cobeljic, Head of Derivatives Trading at AMINA Bank: to gauge institutional demand, watch ETF subscriptions and corporate Bitcoin purchases—not just futures. The futures basis has recently stayed compressed even during rallies, suggesting that much of the activity is basis arbitrage rather than bullish bets. He also pointed to a specific factor to watch: for this rally to keep outperforming, capital needs to rotate over from gold and AI stocks. ETF subscriptions are the clearest evidence of that, since institutions would rather buy a fund than hold the coins themselves.

⚠️ He added a candid observation: the market has grown so large that it now takes institutional-scale capital to move it; retail investors can no longer shift the needle on their own.

What really matters isn’t just how much of that $530 million flowed out, but whether there’s a path for the money to return—ETF subscriptions picking up again, corporate treasuries continuing to add to their holdings, or returns from gold and AI stocks continuing to pull investors away.
