🛢️ 📉 Oil Plunges Below $100: Is Geopolitical Fear Finally Cooling?

Sometimes, oil prices fall not because the world suddenly needs less energy, but because traders begin pricing in less fear.

Brent crude dropped below $100, reaching around $97.59, while US WTI fell to approximately $89.98. Both benchmarks were heading toward weekly losses of nearly 14%.

One major catalyst is the changing political outlook following the US midterm elections. Investors are assessing whether growing domestic pressure could reduce the likelihood of further escalation with Iran.

But geopolitics isn't the entire story. Weakening oil demand, recovering exports and expectations of a global supply surplus are also weighing on prices.

My take: The important signal isn't simply oil falling below $100. It's the removal of some geopolitical risk premium while supply fundamentals are also shifting.

For crypto traders, cheaper energy could ease inflation pressure, but broader risk sentiment and liquidity still matter.

Oil is telling us that fear has a price. What happens when that fear fades?
