U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer held a phone call with Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, urging Beijing to fully and immediately implement its commitments under the agreement reached in Busan, South Korea.

The two U.S. officials expressed concern about China's recent actions. The two sides reached the Busan agreement one year before the phone call. Bessent said further progress would depend on concrete results and that the U.S. would closely monitor China's implementation.

Mr. Greer's office said China needs to take concrete action to fulfill its commitments, particularly regarding purchases of agricultural products, rare earths, and other critical minerals.

U.S. tariff exemptions for certain Chinese products will expire on November 10. The U.S. has not said whether it will extend these exemptions.
