Futures market: look at structure first, then discuss direction

In the futures market, I only look at crowding, not chat messages.

There are only three sets of numbers that matter for futures. Everything else is noise.

1. BTC 76038, 24h range 74888–76560, change -0.25%.
2. BTC open interest (notional): $7.35 billion, 24h +2.20%
3. Account-wide long/short ratio: 3.11

My take: The funding rate at 0.0099% is near zero, and the long/short ratio is 3.11. Leverage hasn’t picked a side. If it hasn’t picked a side, don’t use high leverage to pick one for it.

Execution ranges (based on current price ± structure, not an old chart):
- Momentum zone: Consider chasing only above 76,646; below that, it’s a false breakout.
- Buy the pullback: 75,126–75,582; don’t buy if support fails.
- No-trade zone: If the 1h candle closes below 74,669, skip this trade.

My positioning: I only buy pullbacks; I don’t chase breakouts. If the structure holds, I can keep a core position. Any additions must wait for the pullback zone.

Data: Binance spot 24h / Binance USDⓈ-M / Yahoo daily (5-day change) / altme_fng / mempool_fees / defillama_chains / coingecko_trending. Missing figures are not filled in.
When meme coins aren’t outperforming BTC, are you still holding them?

Takeaway: When open interest rises while price moves sideways, both sides are likely adding positions; it’s probably not the big players accumulating.
Food for thought: The dollar has strengthened over 5 days, while BTC is still rising—treat it as an independent move, but discount its staying power.
