The first lesson in crypto might not be about technology—it might be about mindset. I’d get whipsawed several times in a day: when prices went up, I thought I’d finally figured it out; when they went down, I felt like the whole world was against me. When I lost money, I wanted to find a trick to make it all back. I’ve fallen for every one of these.

Later, I started practicing a few small habits. I write down just one fact or one question each day, and I don’t chase breaking news, no matter how much everyone’s talking about it. I avoid making any major decisions during the hour when my emotions are at their highest or lowest. If I want to get a feel for trading, I use a small amount of money or just a simulator—I leave my living expenses alone.

Getting whipsawed by ups and downs is normal. If you treat it as a surprise every time, you’ll be startled every day.

$BTC I’ll keep watching how it moves and what people are saying about it. No rush to decide which way it’s headed. These are learning notes, not investment advice.

How did you get through that period of back-and-forth swings? Share some tips.
