Nubank temporarily suspended
cryptocurrency deposits and withdrawals in its app this Friday (6).
As a result, customers are unable to send digital currencies to other platforms or receive cryptocurrencies from external wallets. According to a report by the BelnCrypto website, the interruption may be related to a possible hacker attack targeting a service provider used by the institution. However, the suspicion has not yet been officially confirmed.
Nubank’s app itself said that transactions are temporarily unavailable and that the team is working to restore the service as quickly as possible. So far, there is no confirmation that customers’ funds have been stolen or that bank accounts have been compromised.
The bank is still investigating what happened and has not provided an estimated date for transfers to return to normal.
