Elysium launches on November 9: will Hyperliquid's L2 bring liquidity—or siphon it away?
...
The Kinetiq team is launching Elysium, an Arbitrum Orbit-based L2 that settles on HyperEVM. The mainnet is scheduled for November 9.
Key points:
• Gas is paid in $HYPE (tokens are bridged 1:1); there is no separate Elysium token or points program for now
• Half of the sequencer fees go toward buying back $KNTQ on the open market
• Partners include DEX Nest (live from the first block), prediction market Speculate, DEX Dawn, and launchpads Montra and Citadel
• HyperCore hooks, which will let contracts read market data and route orders, are expected in about a month
At launch, there will be one sequencer and a validator allowlist; Arbitrum BoLD fraud protection is promised later. The project itself warns that timelines and specifications may change.
Will the new L2 bring liquidity into the Hyperliquid ecosystem—or split it across networks and weaken the main venue?
