Blockchain Industry | What can on-chain data tell us, and what can’t it?
The number of active addresses counts the addresses that have participated in transfers over a period of time. It is often used as one of the indicators for measuring network usage.
A large transfer into an exchange could be intended for selling, or it could be used as futures margin, for market-making rebalancing, or simply be the exchange reorganizing its own wallets. It’s difficult to draw conclusions from a single transaction alone.
All transfers by $BTC are publicly recorded on the blockchain, and anyone can look them up using a block explorer. Currently: 75489.35.
Don’t rush into placing an order just because everyone around you is doing so.
