The local regulator has filed a police complaint against Bitget’s operator, BG Limited. The exchange is accused of providing cryptocurrency services without a license from 2022 to 2025.

Bitget is also planning to acquire the licensed Thai exchange GMO-Z.com Cryptonomics, but the deal is still awaiting regulatory approval. The company’s plans to enter the Thai market are now in question.
