The Trump family’s project has finally made a move.
World Liberty announced today that it will buy back WLFI, using earnings from the reserves backing its own stablecoin, USD1. USD1’s market cap is now over $3.6 billion, which sounds like it has real firepower.
But the announcement didn’t say how much they’ll spend on buybacks or when they’ll start buying.
The token price couldn’t care less: WLFI is still stuck at $0.047, down 73% from its peak of $0.1744. In the 24 hours after the news broke, it moved just -0.15%.
What stings even more is that the Trump family still holds 22.5 billion tokens, while only 32% are in circulation.
Whether the buyback is real price support or just hype depends on when the first real money actually goes on-chain.
Which side are you on?
A: Buybacks + $3.6 billion in stablecoins backing it—$0.047 is the bottom
B: No amount, no timeline—it’s just talk. A buyback can’t save a token that’s down 73%
