Europe’s largest asset manager has just put a 600-stock index fund on Ethereum — and this isn’t a new token, it’s the same fund units, recorded on a public chain.
The facts: On Nov. 5, 2026, Amundi announced a tokenized share class of the Amundi Core STOXX Europe 600 on public Ethereum, with CACEIS as its tokenization infrastructure provider. Investors get the same fund units — not direct shares, not ETH — and the fund remains accessible through traditional channels. This follows Amundi’s first tokenized money market share class in Nov. 2025, also with CACEIS on Ethereum. RWA.xyz data: tokenized stocks were worth $4.24 billion as of Nov. 4, up ~27% in 30 days.
My take: what’s interesting is what was NOT announced — no fee reductions, no settlement time figures, no clarity on secondary markets. So for now, this is still about plumbing: moving ownership records onto a chain, not about retail investors being able to trade these units 24/7. The IMF itself warned in its October 2026 financial stability report that tokenized stock markets remain less liquid and more fragmented than traditional markets — so don’t read this as “everything’s solved.” But the direction is clear: Europe’s largest asset manager is now putting a core equity product on a public chain, not a private one. If the next products follow suit, Ethereum will increasingly become the settlement rail for traditional financial products — that’s what I’m watching, not today’s ETH price.
What I’m watching next: Amundi’s next tokenized fund, whether this share class can be traded on secondary markets or will remain just recorded on-chain, and next month’s RWA.xyz figures — whether this $4.24 billion keeps rising or stalls here.
What do you think: will tokenizing funds like this change how European investors invest, or is it just an administrative rebrand?
Not financial advice — always DYOR.
