Reuters reported on November 5 that the Federal Reserve and the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) contacted several U.S. banks together this week to investigate whether the $6.3 billion Binance theft on October 29 had affected the traditional financial system, asking whether there had been any unusual activity or service disruptions.

According to people familiar with the matter, the banks contacted said they had not yet found any service disruptions. Banks are checking whether their systems can withstand similar attacks, and the cybersecurity team at one major U.S. bank contacted Binance within hours of the incident. Binance said it had shared an incident report with all its banking partners. The Federal Reserve and the OCC declined to comment.
