【Hyperliquid perpetuals accelerate US expansion】Nasdaq-listed Hyperliquid Strategies (PURR) disclosed alongside its third-quarter earnings report on November 5 that its subsidiary had applied to the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to register as a futures commission merchant (FCM). It plans to offer US customers on-chain perpetuals trading through Hyperliquid’s HIP-3 permissionless market framework. If approved, it will directly custody US customer accounts. According to CoinDesk, the application was submitted in August and is still under review; neither the timing nor the outcome of approval is guaranteed. The company also disclosed that it raised $911 million in the third quarter and spent $785 million to purchase 9.1 million HYPE. Following ICE’s announcement in late October that it would partner with Trade[XYZ] to launch a Hyperliquid perpetuals market in the US, this is another compliant US access channel.
