Let’s say something unpleasant that many people don’t think about.

You enter a crypto exchange dreaming of making money. You look at charts, search for entry points, read analyses, follow traders, and try to find that one coin that will change your life.

Now let’s look at the situation from the other side.

An exchange earns money from trading fees. The more you trade, the more opportunities it has to generate revenue.

You open a trade—fee.
You close a trade—fee.
You open a position again—another fee.

And what if you add futures, leverage, and endless attempts to win back your losses?

For a platform, an active trader is a source of trading volume.

And this is where things get interesting.

You’re constantly shown:

  • Stories of people who turned $100 into $10,000.

  • Coins that are supposedly about to go 100x.

  • Traders showing off their profits.

  • Signals promising incredible opportunities.

But how many people show their full results for the year?

How many publish not only profitable trades, but all their losses too?

How many honestly say that after fees, mistakes, and bad entries, their results turned out negative?

For some reason, people are much more eager to show a screenshot of a profit than the story of a blown account.

The biggest problem isn’t the exchange. The biggest problem is our expectations.

We want to make money fast. We don’t want to wait. We don’t want to miss opportunities.

We see a green candle—we buy.
We see a red one—we panic.
A coin goes up 50%—we regret not buying sooner.
It drops 30%—we look for someone to blame.

And round and round we go.

We come to the market seeking financial freedom, but sometimes turn trading into an addiction to charts.

And now for an uncomfortable question.

Maybe the crypto market doesn’t make money from you correctly predicting the price, but from you constantly trying to guess it?

Let’s not forget: exchanges provide infrastructure, not a guarantee of profit. And not every exchange benefits from users behaving the same way.

But one thing never changes: your deposit is your responsibility.

Be honest:

Have you ever calculated how much money you’ve paid exchanges in fees?

And one more thing: what do you think is more profitable for exchanges—successful long-term investors or traders who open dozens of trades every day?

I think there’ll be plenty to debate here.
