Stock dividends are now paid in tokens — and Binance has scheduled the next four.
The facts: Binance will reinvest dividends for holders of bStocks IBMB (IBM), AAPLB (Apple), GLWB (Corning), and LLYB (Eli Lilly) at snapshots from Nov 10–13, with dates varying by stock (coinlab, Nov 5; odaily, Nov 6). The dividends aren’t paid in cash — holders receive additional tokens. The latest confirmed amounts: $1.69 per IBM share and $0.27 per Apple share (Binance, Oct 12); Apple’s ex-dividend date is Nov 12, with payment on Nov 16. The same setup is already in place for ASML: ASMLB holders received $1.79 per share in additional tokens, with a snapshot on Oct 27.
My take: This is a less-discussed side of tokenization — it’s not about the stock price, but the mechanics. Reinvested dividends mean your token balance grows without you doing anything, but remember: this isn’t direct stock ownership, and there are no voting rights. Around the snapshot, conversions, deposits, and withdrawals were briefly paused, as with ASMLB, while spot trading continued. And bStocks is already substantial: nearly $1.4 billion in tokenized value, about 38% of the tokenized stock market (RWA.xyz, Nov 3).
What I’m watching: whether the snapshots go smoothly for all four stocks, and whether other exchanges copy this token-dividend model.
Do you think automatically turning dividends into additional tokens makes tokenized stocks more appealing, or just more complicated?
This is my analysis, not financial advice — always DYOR.
