ME News, November 6 (UTC+8) — Mastercard has been granted two U.S. patents aimed at assessing money-laundering risks before users make cryptocurrency transfers and approving transactions without revealing their details to outside parties. According to documents published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Mastercard obtained the two patents on November 3. The first technology can analyze a recipient’s transaction history before a transfer and estimate how much the user’s own risk score would increase after the transaction is completed, helping users decide whether to proceed. The second technology allows transactions to be processed on a private network of authorized nodes, with a central system verifying balances and deciding whether to approve them, thereby protecting transaction privacy and preventing double spending.
