A-shares closed even worse than they were at midday today. Computing-power hardware led the sell-off, Cambridge Technology hit the daily limit down, and the ChiNext Index fell 3.96%.

More than 4,700 stocks across the market were down. Turnover plunged by 460.2 billion yuan from yesterday, as buyers pulled back first.

But looking at the week as a whole, the Shenzhen Component Index is still up 3.15%. Today was basically just a shakeout of crowded trades.
