Does Every Blockchain Really Need a Native Token?

Many blockchain networks have their own tokens, but is a native token always necessary?

Let's look at both sides:

Why a token can be useful:

Paying network transaction fees.

Rewarding validators and network participants.

Supporting governance decisions.

Creating economic incentives.

Why a token may not always be needed:

Some networks can use existing assets for fees.

Certain applications can abstract token usage from users.

A simpler model may reduce complexity.

MY TAKE: A token should solve a real problem, not exist only to create another asset to trade.

Question: Would you trust a blockchain more if it had real utility without launching its own token?
