$TRUMP Singapore Airlines unveils $1.60 billion cabin upgrade plan
Singapore Airlines announced a comprehensive cabin upgrade plan on Friday, valued at more than 2.00 billion Singapore dollars ($1.60 billion), aimed at modernizing long-haul seats across all four travel classes in the largest upgrade in the carrier’s history.
The Singaporean national carrier said in an official statement that the new cabins will begin to be installed in the second half of 2027 on 72 aircraft. These include Airbus A350-900 aircraft scheduled for retrofitting and Boeing 777-9 aircraft currently on order, which will make up the bulk of the company’s long-haul fleet.
Reuters quoted sources at a briefing with a Singapore Airlines official earlier this week as saying that the company would spend more than 2.00 billion Singapore dollars on the upgrades.
