How exactly is the figure for “ETF net inflows” calculated?
ETF fund flows only reflect changes in fund shares. Those subscribing may also be hedging in other markets, so this shouldn’t be directly equated with new buying.
ETF management fees are calculated at an annualized rate and accrued daily from the fund’s assets, which is reflected in the NAV. Investors aren’t charged separately.
