$XAUT Why Is HKEX Stock Falling Today?
Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited shares fell 2.6% to HK$384.40 on Friday after the company reported third-quarter 2026 results that fell short of market expectations.
HKEX reported that its quarterly net profit fell 0.84% year over year to HK$4.86 billion, below market expectations of around HK$5.03 billion. Core business revenue was broadly stable despite an 11% drop in the average daily turnover on the Stock Exchange. Lower trading and clearing fees in the cash market and via the Southbound Stock Connect weighed on results, as did a decline in net investment income from margin funds due to higher refunds to clearing participants. These factors offset gains from commodities trading, Northbound Stock Connect activity, and higher listing fees.
