Bitcoin developer Cory Fields has proposed an interesting idea called “Quantum Landmines” to protect BTC from future quantum attacks.

Here's how it could work. If someone tries to move 1 BTC from a vulnerable wallet, they would first need to lock up another 1 BTC of their own as a security deposit.

If the real owner can prove the BTC belongs to them, they could recover their Bitcoin and the attacker could lose that deposit.

Basically, it makes stealing Bitcoin risky for the hacker too.
Still just a proposal, but good to see developers working on ways to protect Bitcoin from future quantum threats.
